What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga to me is living in the flow of life. It takes me to a place of stillness and peace within myself where I feel one with all of creation.
When did you first start practicing yoga and why?I started practicing yoga to build awareness of my breath and the flow of prana in my body. It was a means of aligning my mind, body and breath, and of meditating longer and deeper.
Were you ever resistant to learn yoga?Yoga has been my go to since the last I remember. It's maybe the one thing I never resisted. Whatever else may be going on in my life, I know that in the teachings and and practice of yoga, I will find all solutions.

How has yoga impacted your life?
Yoga has helped me realize that we all are energy. It has taught me to to simply observe and enjoy life, without getting entangled in it. Through yoga, I experience states of love, joy and expansiveness that cannot be described in words. Yoga has also given me an opportunity to serve and share, and live my purpose.
Why should someone practice yoga? Yoga has the power to uplift anyone who's living in the consciousness of not feeling good enough. Through yoga you realize that you already are all that you ever want to be. In fact, you're so much more.
What are your favourite asanas and why?Different asanas feel good to me at different times. Currently it's Vrikshasana and Vasisthasana. Through these asanas, I find my inner balance and strength.

A quote by one of my gurus,
"Forget the past. Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now." - Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri

Divisha's yoga journey reminds us that, contrary to popular belief, yoga is primarily a spiritual practice (not just a physical practice) and that an important reason to practice yoga is to raise one's own level of consciousness and improve one's emotional state. Namaste!
