What does yoga mean to you?
I love yoga. For me, yoga is about harmony, personal development, youth, vitality, stability and levelling-up to a spiritual path. These principles underpin the practice of yoga and make this ancient philosophy so relevant to our modern world. The more people that experience this state of harmony and stability, the greater will be peace and harmony among people.
Why did you start practicing yoga?
I like to express my creativity in many ways. Movement is my basic way of being. Belly dancing was my first search for movement, including the tribal method, because I felt it was much more ancient and more intense in terms of living my femininity than traditional belly dancing. I later continued this practice with contemporary dance because it pushes boundaries, not only in the field of art, but also the boundaries of my own body, and that's what attracted me. It was the opportunity for to develop myself to a higher level. That’s when I got to know yoga too because we used a lot of elements of yoga in the warm-up, which I really enjoyed.
What made me even more deeply interested in the world of yoga was its effect in initiating self-healing processes. I have known for a very long time that the human body is capable of self-healing and I find it fantastic that we are able to initiate these self-healing processes with a little care.
I’ve been preoccupied with the science of self-healing for a long time, and I feel like I’ve gotten closer to it, more now than ever before, because of yoga.

How has yoga impacted your life?
What yoga has given me is much more than just exercise. It contains ancient knowledge and the connection with the energies of the universe. For many, this may sound absurd, but it is completely real once you experience it.
The vinyasa flow method is another level that I am hoping to master. It adds so much fulfilment and positivity to my life, in a way that nobody and nothing else can. And I feel that by passing it on, through teach yoga, I can amplify and spread this wave of positivity.

I tried several branches of yoga as well, and finally the picture became clear that yoga is something I really want to get to know and master in depth. The philosophy, the spirituality, and the complete system of yoga is what I really like.
In exploring yoga trends, I have always been looking for a more dynamic version of yoga, in which I can be free and yet fulfilled through systematic movement, which is why I chose the vinyasa flow trend. Its very name reflects continuity, the experience of flow, and the higher awareness that results from a system of systematic movements.

Why you someone practice yoga?
The main reason is: transformation. The effect of 5,000 years of knowledge has the potential to impact and transform so many lives. And I believe that anyone can experience this transformation simply by mastering certain asanas. It’s not about dexterity, flexibility or perfection; it’s about the physical and spiritual processes that yogic exercises bring with them, which we experience sometimes unnoticeably, when we practice regularly.
Is there anything you would like to add?
It is important to me that, in any yoga practice, it represents spiritual values, creates harmony, and energizes and balances my body and mind, which I desperately need. Many times, when I have some difficulty, I still turn to yoga. It turns me in a positive direction and helps me to shake off the negative energies in me. It balances and recharges me with energy, and it reinforces a positive state of being in this world.
I believe that more people living happily, in balance with themselves and the world, can bring more good to the world and the positive changes that our world so desperately needs.
I look forward to continuing my practice!

Eniko's yoga journey reinforces the truism that yoga is much more than physical exercise. It is a system for ridding the body and mind of negative energy and infusing it with positive energy. It is also a system of self-healing through which we can change the world by changing ourselves, one yogi at a time. As we create harmony and balance on the inner level, we help to spread harmony and balance on the outer level. That's a vision we can all get behind. Namaste!
