What is detoxification?
Detoxification is the process of removing toxins from the body. Ayurveda provides a structured system for detoxification using a combination of internal treatments, external treatments, diet and exercise. Internal treatments include herbal medicines that are consumed orally as well as special enemas, known as bastis. External body treatments involve full body massages, local massages, scrubs, milk baths, oil baths, and other processes and treatments.
Why is detoxification necessary?
According to Ayurveda, the accumulation of toxins in the body or mind is the root cause of disease. Toxins disturb the body’s natural balance of the doshas, that is, the energy systems or the combination of elements that constitute the body and mind.  Toxins and toxicity are unavoidable in modern life – they exist in the air we breathe, the food we consume, and even the thoughts we think.  Detoxification is necessary to correct imbalances in the body, prevent ill health, slow down the aging process and, ultimately, promote mental well-being.
What is included in a detoxification package
A detoxification package includes:
  1. Private accommodations
  2. Airport pickup and drop-off
  3. Detailed health consultation on arrival
  4. All meals and medicines for duration of stay
  5. Body treatments (at least 90 minutes daily)
  6. Yoga (at least 60 minutes daily)
  7. Daily health checkups at the resort
  8. Nutritional advice and post-visit counseling
  9. Assistance with visa process
  10. Assistance with planning your flights
  11. All applicable
In short, Ayurooms provides an “all inclusive” service.
Why type of food is served as part of a detox package?
Most of our detox resorts serve only vegetarian food. However, if you require a detox resort that will provide you with non-vegetarian food, send us an email at info@ayurooms.com or submit your request via our contact form.
How much does a detox cost?
Ayurooms offers detox packages ranging from USD $100 per day to $2,000 per day.  The average rate is around USD $200 per day.

The average daily rate depends on the resort that you choose, the duration of your stay, the time of year that you visit, and the quality of accommodations you require.

No matter which resort you choose, Ayurooms will offer you a “best price guarantee”. If after you purchase you can find a cheaper package online for the same resort, for the same inclusions, and for the same timeframe, we will beat the price by 5%.
